"Johnnie" Johnson Housing Trust is commited to expanding its digital inclusion strategy to as many residents as possible within its sheltered housing schemes.
To date, it has 34 residents online, each with a desktop computer and 3 years broadband access provided free of charge. Some schemes also have laptops that residents can borrow.
The emphasis now is to provide further training and support to residents to carry the project forward. The technical and logistical aspects of the project are under full control but it needs more volunteers to help with tuition, mainly across the north-west and north-east of England.
123 Computing Support will spread the word, aiming to help people get online.

1A ARTS etc will help in its local community and get involved in events such as Silver Surfers' Day. www.1a-arts-etc.co.uk
2.00E+2 will train its employees, showing them the benefits of providing the public sector with online tools, consequently helping to reduce the cost of providing public services.
2010 bc ltd are offering social media workshops to adults in their local community. They will be teaching older people how to stay connected with their friends and family using Facebook and twitter. They will also be taking part in events for Get Online Week, showing employees, friends and family and training their customers.
2and7 Limited will spread the word, give equipment and help in their local community. They will also show employees, friends and family and support events.
2sms will donate equipment, make its offices and equipment available for evening classes to learn about IT and help the local Scouts get online and build an iPhone App.
