Media Bus

The Media Bus is a state-of-the-art digital media training facility which also happens to be located on an environmentally conscious, high- tech, double decker bus.

The organisation provides digitally excluded people with a voice by offering training and educational opportunities. They reach disadvantaged, disconnected and rural communities and enable people to make short films about the hardships they face on a daily basis.

The bus offers a range of training activities from film making, editing, animation and training using a range of software packages.  The lower deck houses a Mac based IT suite, while upstairs there are two 42" HD TV screens for film screenings. There’s also a soft seating area for team building activities, plus three Mac Pro edit suites for professional training.

The bus has just completed a tour of the South West, offering free digital film making and photography courses, and has been used by children as young as 8 to produce short films about life in rural areas.

Due to its success, Media Bus is now planning a similar tour, aimed at older members of the community.
